Join us for a workshop entitled, “Applying Technology to Support Social and Executive Functioning” on Tuesday, July 21, 2015, from 5:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at our office located at 977 Main Street in Waltham, Massachusetts (30 minutes from Boston).
The speaker will be Sean Sweeney, M.S., M.Ed., CCC-SLP, a speech-language pathologist and technology specialist working in private practice at the Ely Center in Newton, MA, who consults to local and national organizations on technology integration in speech and language interventions.
This program will demonstrate a variety of visual and interactive applications that can be used with clients with difficulties in social cognition and executive functioning, particularly with a lens on addressing these issues in the educational environment.
Web tools and apps for the iPad will be covered, including those helpful for older students struggling to access the curriculum and manage their workload.

Learning Objectives:
1. Become informed on a variety of tools applicable to students at various age levels to support social interaction in the school, community and home settings.
2. Learn to apply applications toward assisting students and parents with executive functioning: planning, organization, behavioral regulation and time management.
3. Align technology tools with specific approaches supporting social and executive functioning, such as Story Grammar Marker® and The Incredible 5-Point Scale.
4. Have identified resources for further learning.
This program is offered for 0.2 CEUs (Intermediate level: Professional area).
