A workshop entitled, “The Dysphagic and Respiratory Compromised, and CPR” will be presented on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 from 5:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at our office in Waltham, MA. The speaker will be Ken Brooks, EMT. Information concerning choking and breathing problems will be provided, and practice will be given in CPR for adults and children.
The program will consist of a presentation of diagnostic criteria and strategies for treatment of cardiovascular disease, cardiac arrest, breathing and choking episodes found in clients with communicative disorders.
ASHA Disclosure Forms have been completed by the speaker from which it was determined that there is no conflict of interest in the form of relevant financial or non-financial relationships to disclose.
Participating clinicians will be able to:
1. Discuss and identify choking aid respiratory difficulties.
2. Describe diagnostic criteria for CPR treatment.
3. Describe treatment goals and strategies for CPR cases.
This program is offered for 0.2 CEUs (Intermediate level: Professional area).
An annual ASHA Continuing registry fee is required to register for ASHA CEUs. This registry fee is paid by the participant directly to the ASHA national office. The registry fee ($30 for ASHA or NSSLHA members; $35 for non-members) allows registration of an unlimited number of ASHA CEUs for the calendar year.
