A workshop entitled, “Executive Functions: Treatment Options” will be presented on Wednesday, August 14, 2013, from 5:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at our Waltham office. The speaker at that time will be Bonnie Diaz-Torres, M.S., CCC–SLP, who is a bi-lingual speech-language pathologist with over 20 years of experience with varied patient populations in hospitals and rehab centers.
ASHA Disclosure Forms have been completed from which it was determined (financial) that Bonnie is an employee of BRS and an independent consultant to CHCA, and (non-financial) that there are no conflict of interest relationships.
Upon completion of this workshop, participants should be able to:
1. Define and identify executive function disorders in the neurologically injured population.
2. Understand the cerebral anatomy and physiology responsible for adequate executive function.
3. Describe the assessment and treatment strategies and tools necessary to treat the neurologically impaired with executive function disabilities.
4. Practice treatment techniques interacting with other participants in order to apply the techniques learned.
This program is offered for 0.2 CEUs (Intermediate level: Professional area).
An annual ASHA Continuing Registry fee is required to register ASHA CEUs. This registry fee is paid by the participant directly to the ASHA National Office. The registry fee ($30 for ASHA or NSSLHA members; $35 for non-members) allows registration of an unlimited number of ASHA CEUs for the calendar year.
